Introduction
The Oregon Intercultural Association (OIA) has been offering an educational home-stay trip to Japan every summer for the last 30 years. This is going to be our 31st annual trip to Japan! Every summer, a group of about 50 students from 8-10 Oregon high schools participate in this program and enjoy a great cultural and educational experience in Japan for two weeks! To date, about 1,300 students (mainly high school) have participated in this program. They live with Japanese families in two locations and experience various educational and cultural activities, and also spend 3 days in Tokyo.
In summer 2019, a group of 54 members (several adults included) participated in this trip. They had a great time and enjoyed a wonderful cultural experience! In summer 2020, 2021 and 2022, our trip was canceled was due to the corona virus situation.
